Being Still in the Midst of Chaos

What a whirlwind January has been! It flew by in some ways, yet felt surprisingly long in others. Life's been keeping my family and me on our toes – the kind of busy that used to throw my whole routine off balance.

Looking back, I recall the days when busyness would disrupt everything. However, over the years, I've learned to extend grace to myself, our schedules, and focus on what truly matters. Sometimes, it's all about surviving – like right now, with my kids and husband all under the weather. So, surviving it is!

This month, it feels like the Lord is guiding me through two significant lessons, and I'll be honest, they aren't the most enjoyable. The first lesson is about being still in the midst of chaos. 'Be Still' holds different meanings in different seasons, and for me, it currently means taking life one day at a time and fully embracing the present. Grounding myself in the truth that this season is temporary has been a game-changer. It's okay not to have control over every situation because God's got it. I've made my solitude with the Lord non-negotiable, understanding that making it through this crazy season requires wholeheartedly depending on God’s strength, not my own.

The second lesson is all about trusting God. I think that for the first time in my walk with God I am not worried at all about what's ahead. I am enjoying this sweet season of trusting the Lord with all my heart. I continually remind my soul to trust God. He knows what He's doing, and I believe that all things work together for my good because He loves me and has a purpose for me.If you have been struggling with trusting God and being still, I want to remind you my dear friend that the Lord wants to draw near to you in this season. He wants you all to Himself. He wants you and desires your heart and all that is in it!

Psalms 31

1 In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;

    let me never be put to shame;

    deliver me in your righteousness.

2 Turn your ear to me,

    come quickly to my rescue;

be my rock of refuge,

    a strong fortress to save me.

3 Since you are my rock and my fortress,

    for the sake of your name lead and guide me.

4 Keep me free from the trap that is set for me,

    for you are my refuge.

5 Into your hands I commit my spirit;

    deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.

24 Be strong and take heart,

    all you who hope in the Lord.
