Timing is one of the most challenging aspects of faith. Often, we find ourselves wrestling with God’s delays or wondering why His answers come when they do. But one truth remains steadfast: God’s timing is always perfect—never a moment too soon, and never a moment too late.
Consider the story of Lazarus in John 11. When Jesus was told that Lazarus was sick, He didn’t rush to heal him. Instead, Jesus stayed where He was for two more days. By the time He arrived, Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days. To everyone else, Jesus was too late. But through this delay, Jesus revealed His power over life and death:"Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?’" (John 11:40).
God’s timing wasn’t late; it was purposeful. Lazarus’ resurrection became a profound testimony of Jesus’ divinity and brought glory to God.
In our own lives, waiting on God’s timing can feel like an eternity. But Isaiah 40:31 reassures us:"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Waiting is not wasted. During the waiting, God prepares us, strengthens our faith, and aligns our hearts with His purposes.
In Ecclesiastes 3:11, we’re reminded:"He has made everything beautiful in its time."
When we rush ahead or lag behind, we miss the beauty and purpose of God’s work. Trusting His timing means surrendering our agenda and resting in the assurance that He sees the whole picture. His delays are not denials; they are divine appointments.
