Why Having a Word for the Year Matters
Over the past few years, I’ve embraced the practice of asking God for a word to guide my year. It’s not about a magic formula or trend—it’s about intentionally seeking His direction and allowing Him to shape my focus.
Having a word for the year helps us stay anchored in His purpose. It becomes a lens through which we see His hand at work. It’s a reminder to return to Him in every season, whether joyful or challenging.
So as I step into 2025 with surrender as my word, I invite you to pray about your own word for the year. Ask God to give you a word that reflects His heart for you in this season. It could be something comforting, like rest, or something challenging, like trust. Whatever it is, know that He will equip you for it.
A Prayer for Your Word
Lord, as I begin this new year, I seek Your wisdom and guidance. Speak to me and give me a word that reflects Your purpose for my life. Help us to walk in faith, knowing You are with me every step of the way. May my word remind me to draw closer to You and to trust Your plans, even when I don’t fully understand. Amen.
Your word for the year is not just a theme— it’s an invitation to journey deeper with God. And that’s a journey worth taking.
What’s your word for 2025? I’d love to hear about it! Let’s step into this year with boldness and faith, trusting that God has incredible things in store for us.
Praying for you!
