"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."
Isaiah 43:2
The other night, I was putting my boys to bed when, out of nowhere, we heard a super loud thunder. The sky lit up brightly for a second, and I heard my husband scream, "OH MY GOSH!" Lightning had struck just a few feet away from our house. My husband had been outside, returning from an evening walk, when he saw the lightning nearly hit our home! My boys and I screamed so loud! But my first reaction was to hold them close, and their first reaction was to run to me and hug me. As soon as they were in my arms, it seemed like all their fear disappeared because they knew they had Mommy with them during this scary situation.
What if we ran to God when we go through storms, rather than running away from Him? What if our first reaction, when the storm gets scary and loud, is to run to the Father and remain in His embrace? Isaiah 43:2 reminds us that even though we may go through frightening storms, the Lord will be with us. His arms are wide open, ready to hold and embrace us. Even though we may walk through the fire, the flames will not consume us.
I don't know what kind of storm you're facing today—whether it's financial struggles, health challenges, marriage problems, a tough decision, or simply the exhaustion and burnout of life. I may not know the specifics, but what I do know is that God is faithful. He is right there with you, protecting, embracing, and carrying you through this difficult season.
My friend, you are not alone in this storm. You are loved, protected, embraced, and filled with God's strength and joy. I declare healing over you, I declare your marriage will be restored, I declare financial breakthrough, I declare God's peace over you, right now!
I encourage you to hold on to Him like never before. Don't let go—He will never let go of you!
Dear Heavenly Father, help me to trust You in every trial. Remind me that You are with me, even in the darkest moments. Strengthen my faith and help me rest in the assurance of Your presence. In Jesus' name, Amen.
