Unforgettable Takeaways: Part 4When My Plans Failed, His Plans Prevailed

I remember when I first sat down to plan the timeline for publishing my book. The original release date was set for March 2024. In September 2023, I submitted my first rough draft to the editor, feeling confident I was on track to meet that goal. I was certain March was the month.

But if you’ve been following along, you probably noticed that the book didn’t officially launch until August 2024! Looking back, I realized I had put so much pressure on myself, rushing through the process, and I was convinced that my timeline was right. However, God was gently asking me to slow down. He had a better plan in mind—one that required patience and trust.

Now, I’m deeply grateful it took longer than I had originally planned. Through the delay, God worked on my heart in unexpected ways. He also brought the right people at the right time to be part of the publishing team, making the final product even better than I could have imagined.

When our plans fail, it’s not the end of the story—it’s an invitation to trust in God’s greater plan.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

This doesn’t mean life will always go smoothly or according to our desires, but it does mean that God is always working for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28).

If you’re facing failed plans today, take heart. God is not surprised by your circumstances. He is weaving every disappointment into something beautiful and purposeful. Trust that His plans will always prevail, even when it feels like your world is falling apart.
