"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."
2 Corinthians 12:9
Would you believe me if I told you that you don’t have to be strong? Being a follower of Christ doesn't mean we have it all together. It doesn't mean we won’t face struggles or fall short at times. Being a follower of Christ means we have a God who is full of grace, mercy, and love for us. It means I don’t have to be strong because He is strong for me. When I am weak, He is my strength. He is everything I need.
Too often, we try to walk this journey of faith on our own, thinking we have to be perfect, or that we must figure it all out. But if we humble ourselves, we realize that this is actually pride. When we rely solely on our own strength, we might conclude, “This God thing doesn’t work.” The truth is, it doesn’t work when we try to do it all by ourselves.
In a world that constantly tells us to embrace self-love, follow the "you do you" mentality, and believe that we are enough on our own, we need to rise up as people who recognize that our dependence on the Lord is what truly sustains us. Our strength doesn’t come from within—it comes from Him. Today, I invite you to surrender, stop pretending, and let God fully into every area of your life. Let go of the need to be strong on your own, and allow Him to be your strength, your guide, and your source of peace.
The path to true strength and peace begins with surrender. As you release the need to have it all together, you’ll discover the beauty of God’s grace filling the gaps. Lean into His strength, and let Him carry you through every season. He is more than enough for whatever you face.
Dear Heavenly Father, I recognize that I need you in every area of my life. Today, I surrender and recognize my dependence on you alone! I recognize that your grace is sufficient for me and that your power is made perfect my weakness. I invite you into every area of my life recognizing that I desperately need you and that I no longer need to pretend. Thank you for your grace and perfect love for me. In Jesus name, amen.
