Your God is Bigger Than Your Fear!

FEAR…

My youngest son Kai is adventurous, outgoing, has lots of energy, and is so expressive. Not long ago Martin bought us a roomba (pretty much a robot that vacuums your entire house). Well, in the recent weeks we’ve noticed that Kai cannot see or hear that roomba start to vacuum because he starts screaming “stop roomba stop roomba!” Yesterday I asked Kai why do you want the roomba to stop, and he said, “because I am scared!” My heart melted with his little puppy eyes. So we did our affirmations - "I am brave, I am strong, I am not afraid because God is with me,”  and he felt so much better and actually ignored the Roomba for the rest of the day.

To be honest, it sounds silly that he is scared of a machine that in reality it will cause him no harm whatsoever. But here is the thing: The lens of fear magnifies the size of uncertainty.

I wonder if he is scared of it because he doesn’t really know what it is; causing him to be uncertain of the actual machine.

I wonder what Roombas we have in our life today? Things that we are afraid of just because we do not understand our current season. Or fears that are actually drifting us from the truth? Fears that are not allowing us to step out in faith? Fears that are not letting us live our God given potential or dream? Fears that have us stagnant…

The Bible is filled with God’s beautiful truths and  there’s a beautiful reminder in Isaiah 41:10 & 13: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

This is good! This is one of God's promises for us! But what caught my attention was “my righteous right hand” I asked myself why not both hands? God knows sometimes I need him to carry me with two of His arms … but I did a bit more studying and found that God's right hand means - JUSTICE, POWER, VICTORY, and SALVATION!

God is so good! He tells us not to fear! But also promises us He will hold us with his justice, power, victory, and salvation!

Whatever you are struggling with in this season know that you have a good God who loves you and has already given you the victory over this season!

I want to encourage you that whatever fear you may be battling with this morning you lay it at God’s feet, you surrender to Him, knowing and trusting that your God is bigger than the fear! Is bigger than the mental health issues! His justice, power, victory, and salvation will carry you and uphold you for the rest of your days.
